Your Support is Needed
Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is a non-profit organization that takes pride in working to support itself. Its model of retail sales, contract sales, and public funds as revenue sources puts it in a special class of non-profits.
Historically there has not been a focus on private monetary donations to support Goodwill programs. The Jobs Campus project represents the first capital campaign since Goodwill was founded in the Roanoke area nearly 75 years ago. This community-wide appeal is being conducted because of the impact that the services and training, offered through this new facility will have on the community at large.
We are asking for your help in raising gifts and pledges as we undertake Goodwill Industries of the Valleys’ first capital campaign: Building Goodwill.
The Goodwill Jobs Campus will cost $7.7 million. It will be built with money from:
- Industrial Revenue Bonds
- Private Gifts
- Corporate Gifts
- Grants
- Foundations, including the Goodwill Industries of the Valleys’ Foundation
- State and local government support
Your support is an investment in a unique blend of human services and economic development that will reach well beyond the Roanoke Valley. There are few gifts you can make that will have a more direct and ongoing positive impact on the broader community. You will be supporting job growth, critical 21st Century training, and a labor force that will move from public assistance to taxpayers contributing to our overall economy.
With your help Goodwill Industries of the Valleys will become a key component of workforce development in Roanoke and beyond. It is a winning proposition for the business community and it provides the hope and realization of a better life for a new generation of workers.
